- Where to discover the Rolex Land-Dweller in the Caribbean
It’s one of the most talked-about releases at Watches and Wonders 2025, and for good reason. Rolex has unveiled a bold new creation, striking a balance between heritage and modernity. Its name? The Land-Dweller, a timepiece designed for terrestrial exploration, adding a new chapter to the legendary legacy of the crown-bearing brand.
After conquering the ocean depths with the Submariner, Everest with the Explorer, and the skies with the GMT-Master II, Rolex now pays tribute to solid ground and to those who explore it with passion and curiosity.
A new Rolex designed for land explorers
With the Land-Dweller, Rolex opens a new chapter in its watchmaking story. Following its mastery of the deep sea with the Sea-Dweller and the peaks with the Explorer, the brand now speaks to those who walk the Earth with boldness. This model doesn’t aim for the technical extremes of the marine or alpine worlds, but embraces a broader approach to exploration, of everyday life, wide open spaces, and urban or natural adventures.
The name itself, “Land-Dweller”, is the first statement. It evokes a watch designed for modern explorers, those who move, observe, build, and push forward. No need to be a mountaineer or speleologist to wear it, this is a watch that celebrates movement and elevation, perfectly suited for those who roam the land, reach summits, and push limits here on Earth.
The unexpected elegance of the jubilee bracelet
Perhaps the most surprising detail revealed at PALEXPO during Watches and Wonders 2025 in Geneva, the Land-Dweller comes with a Jubilee bracelet. A choice that defies expectations. One might have expected the classic, technical Oyster bracelet to assert the identity of this new model.
Instead, the Jubilee, with its five supple links and a mix of polished and satin finishes, brings an urban elegance that’s almost unexpected. This subtle contrast between ruggedness, technicality, and refinement gives the Land-Dweller its unique character.
The new caliber 7135 : power, precision and innovation
On the technical side, the Land-Dweller also breaks new ground. It introduces the brand-new Caliber 7135, presented this year by Rolex. This high-frequency automatic movement (5 Hz) incorporates 32 patents, 16 of which are specifically dedicated to its mechanism, a quiet yet powerful demonstration of mastery.
Key innovations include:
- Dynapulse escapement, optimizing energy efficiency and improving precision (–2/+2 seconds per day)
- Syloxi silicon hairspring, combined with Paraflex shock absorbers for enhanced resistance to shocks
- 66-hour power reserve, powered by a bidirectional rotor
The watch is water-resistant to 100 meters and features a transparent sapphire case back, a rarity for Rolex, that reveals the movement’s technical beauty.
A laser-engraved honeycomb dial
The new Land-Dweller dial immediately stands out with its finely crafted texture. Laser-engraved with a discreet yet dimensional honeycomb pattern, it plays beautifully with light.
Two versions are available :
• A crisp white with a satin finish, both bright and sophisticated
• A glacier blue, exclusive to the platinum version, lending the watch a rare and precious aura
Chromalight luminescent indexes ensure perfect readability day or night, while the open-worked numerals at 6 and 9 o’clock add a touch of originality, subtle and refined.
A reimagined case balancing slimness and presence
The 2025 Land-Dweller signals a notable evolution in Rolex’s design language. Its completely redesigned case measures just 9.7 mm thick, giving the watch a slimmer silhouette without losing its bold character. The satin-brushed caseband enhances this balance between toughness and elegance, with a refined, understated finish.
A redesigned bezel that elevates the land-dweller to collector status
The fluted bezel, crafted in white gold, is a strong Rolex signature. On the jeweled versions, it’s adorned with trapeze-cut diamonds, a bold reinterpretation of the brand’s iconic codes. This standout detail transforms the Land-Dweller from a tool watch into a true collector’s piece in its own right.
